2.for.Tuesday

Today I'm going to share something I've been saving. No laughing allowed. I'm sorry to say that I can't share it as it was meant to be shared and you can't see it as I did because I saved the link wrong and now only have this picture... just know that it was amazing and inspiring and I know I'm a bit odd but... I wish you could have seen it. And don't be surprised if some day you walk into my house and I've taken a sharpie to my walls. The only thing holding me back is this: How would I ever explain to my children (who already have issues with wall art) that it's okay for me to draw over an entire room but it isn't okay for *I* to write the name of every room on it's light switch cover. Or for *A* to draw a treasure map on the laundry room wall. There is no answer to that problem. And so I am stuck. Dreaming of what I would draw on my walls... If only I could.
one: I saw this through design*sponge quite a while ago. I've been saving it. And I apologize for lack of more. I wish I could find it again. I do, I do... I FOUND IT! Go here.
two: You know how much I like Andrea (aka: Hula Seventy). And maybe you know how much I like to make lists. Well, Andrea made a list. I want you to make a list too. You can take pictures if you want. Go here to Simple Lovely to see Andrea's list. Let me know when you're done so I can see your lists too. I'll get mine up ASAP. Promise.
Enjoy the Journey!

2.for.Tuesday

Yep... I should change the name of my blog... or at least come up with something else that will keep me committed... Anywhoo... today I'm going to share two things I'm way super excited about. Because I need them. Did I say need? Maybe just want... No, I really need the chalkboard. I'm on the lookout for a great frame. Maybe *B* will just have to build me one. Maybe.
one: the chalkboard. It's cute. It's magnetic. It's from Design*Sponge. Go there and they will tell you how to do it yourself. You all need one.
two: Coco's Bobble Dress. Isn't it the cutest? Maybe Coco is just super cute. I don't care. I will be making one of these for the girl. She can wear it when she's... oh, two I think. It's a perfect age. Not playing outside without supervision but walking exclusively. Walking is a definite must. It's crocheted (which, in my humble opinion, is ever so much easier to grasp than knitting) and thanks to my Grandma's patience on numerous occasions at various different ages I think I've got a decent foundation of basics. I can stumble through from there. Intrepid? Yes. + I'm working on finding the right med that will help me actually finish it (as opposed to just starting it...do you think if I put glitter and sequins on the stuff I haven't finished it will get my attention? Just a thought... ooh, sparkly). Oh yeah, the dress is from The Purl Bee.
hee hee!
enjoy the journey!

2.for.Tuesday

Hello, hello! It's Tuesday again! I'm still stuck in Valentine's Day mode so you get more Valentine's Day type stuff...
one: Paper Dolls. I love paper dolls! My grandma had some (and I think I may have had some at one point though not necessarily this particular kind). These ones are vintage... real vintage (from the early 50's). Not 1980's vintage! I think that if you print them smaller - maybe two pages per sheet sized - in my mind they will be the perfect size to fit into the little purse from last week (or was it the week before...). That would complete the perfect little girl valentine. Yes it would. I found these on flickr. The link is the search results... Besty McCall paper dolls. ENJOY! two: Another banner. This one was made by Kara (... I used to be cool like Kara... and because I can't seem to get enough of online classes/inspiration + she's super cool, I'm going to be taking her "life story" class next week. I think it's hilarious that I'm taking a class about documenting your life story from a 16 year old... Yes, she's that cool), for Hambly Studios. I am definitely making one. It's not just Valentine's day this week... it's also *B*s happy birthday. He's getting pretty old. I'm trying to figure out something fun to do for him and it's just not happening. I thought maybe a party but there would be a whole lot of important people missing. We'll probably just end up doing the traditional standby: Pier 49 pizza. He did say I could get him a cupcake from 25 Main. Yum! So... I'm thinking I'll make the cards used in the banner add up to his age. Even though they're painted over you can still tell what they are + what their value is. I think that would be a fun little addition. The boys would get a kick out of adding up the numbers too.
Go ahead and make something fun today!
Enjoy the Journey!

2.for.Tuesday

I am struggling. I don't know why. That said, I feel like I've made a promise to do this and I'm trying my best to keep it going. Hopefully you enjoy the things I've found for you this week. I've got Valentine's Day on the brain lately. Trying to share things that are simple... one: Another goodie from Martha. A super simple valentine that is cute to boot. I looked at it and thought it would be more fun if it were more personalized and, being me, I planned what I could change to make it better. But... why? It's cute and easy just the way it is. two: A party garland from The Purl Bee. A great way to use up those fabric scraps. This one would be easy and quick to pull together. The cutting would take a little time, but not a lot. I'm thinking that if I decided to take *B* up on his fishing trip offer I'll cut them out on the drive. I'm also thinking that I would add some hearts in the mix. I just might make this a permanent fixture in the girl's room. Have fun and enjoy the journey.
